Bailes Latinos: Latin Dance and Exercise In-Person
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage with Bailes Latinos, a series of two fitness line-dance classes featuring the Merengue, Mambo, and Bachata. No previous dance experience is necessary. Please wear athletic shoes or sneakers. Bring your friends and register as a group online. There are two sessions: Sept. 17 & 24. Once you register, you can attend one or both sessions.
Instructor Dr. Debra Weiss is the Artistic Director of the Debra Weiss Dance Company (DWDC), based in Rockland County. Debra has been dancing professionally since age 13; she has performed throughout the US and Europe. The Debra Weiss Dance Company moved from NYC to Rockland County in 1988, where it is known for its living history and cultural heritage programs. Debra has a doctorate in education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and is a professor at CUNY. This program is sponsored by Suffern Free Library. DWDC receives funding from the County of Rockland.
