Synagogues of Western Europe Online
Explore the beautiful Jewish communities in the Venice Ghetto, Casale Monferrato, Turin and Florence, Italy. We continue to Zurich, Basel, and Endingen - Lengnau, Switzerland. Our tour continues to Germany with stops in Berlin, Frankfurt-am-Main, Essen, Ansbach, and the historical city of Worms, home to the notable sage, Rashi. Our journey continues to France and stops at Paris with it's Rothchild Synagogue, Carpentras with it's 14th century "sunken" synagogue, Luneville, Saarebourg, and Nice in the French Riviera. We stop at the great Portuguese synagogue in Amsterdam, Holland. And conclude with a visit to the synagogues in the Bevis Marks Synagogue in East London, the West London Synagogue, the Great Synagogue of Liverpool, and the Garnethill Synagogue in Glasgow, Scotland. We will also stop at the little synagogue in the beach resort of Brighton, England and see the synagogue designed as a private chapel for Sir Albert Sasoon.
